Turtle-Fever

Last weekend I traveled to the east coast of Malaysia, to Cherating beach, because I was so keen on seeing some turtles. Next door to the Club Med there is a turtle station/turtle sanctuary located I visited. They provide a lot of information there, they keep some big turtles, a kind of “breeding garden”, which means they collect the eggs from the beach and burry them again at a certain part of their area so that they are protected. And of course they do have baby turtles- Gosh, they are so cute!!!!

This station is based on donation and as I donated, they invited me to release some of the baby turtles… what an experience! Imagine such a small fragile turtle on your hand…

and they know exactly where to run to! You let them down on the sand and you will see them creeping, nearly running over the beach towards the sea. Their arms and feet seem to be quite strong also they are so tiny… Then the next wave will take them away… Aren’t they brave, running into the big big ocean, facing all the danger…?

  1. Hallo Gaby,
